About Jumpers and Jazz

Queensland's quirky winter festival happens in Warwick each July. A platform for the arts and a celebration of all that is wonderful about winter, the festival's success is due to the community embracing the chill and the opportunity to be inspired by vibrant music and art.

The first Festival was in 2004. since then the growth and appeal of the Festival has been remarkable. The number of trees "wrapped in art" has more than doubled.  Many local schools and community groups consider entering a tree jumper as a major project for the year.  We also receive entries from textile artists from all over Australia.  Every year a beautifully knitted entry arrived from Lincolnshire in England.

The Jazz program is driven by the many venues in Warwick, Allora, Killarney and Stanthorpe that are committed to creating a quality music experience for our visitors.  Musicians perform Dixieland, Swing and Mainstream Jazz throughout the festival with an abundance of free entertainment at Saturday's Party on Palmerin and Sunday's Picnic in the Park

Involve yourself in the creativity by joining an art workshop, attend an artist's talk or design a tree jumper.   Bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks - we encourage spontanious acts of art in our streets, cafes and parks.

Jumpers and Jazz in July is coordinated by Warwick Tourism and Events (07 4661 9073)and Warwick Art Gallery (07 4661 0434).
