![]() Introducing the members of The Foot Stamp Jumper Band: Hannah Macklin (VOICE) is an extraordinary performer who has already starred in several Musical Comedies and she performs regularly with the Hannah Macklin Band in major jazz venues. Hannah has just released her first CD, "Stop, Stop, Go", which features her original songs. Last year, Hannah was a James Morrison Scholarship finalist and she will be featured on our Con Artist recording in November. Steve Newcomb (PIANO) is inarguably one of Australia's best musicians. As well as co-directing the Conservatorium's Jazz Department, Steve regularly arranges music for jazz and classical ensembles. This includes ABC recordings for Katie Noonan and commissions for the Adelaide Symphony. As a student in New York's Manhattan School of Music, Steve became a member of 'VNMG'. This quartet, comprised of 4 different nationalites, tours and records in Europe and in the USA. Gerard McFadden (BASS) is a young Brisbane musician whose proficiency in both classical and jazz keeps him in demand in both genres. He is Principle Bassist with the Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Orchestra. Add to this, the Steve Newcomb Trio, playing with New York Jazz artists, Gretchen Parlato and Mike Moreno at the Brisbane Powerhouse, a special gig with the Accommodators, ETC., ETC., ETC. Richie Daniell (DRUMS) is one of Brisbane 's most talented young musicians and has already performed in several jazz festivals throughout the state. Richie is also a member of the Steve Newcomb Trio, The Accomodators, and this year finds Richie playing drums in the Con Artists, Queensland Coservatorium's premier jazz orchestra. John Hoffman (Flugel Horn) has taught at the Con for the past 14 years. John moved to OZ in 1977, after 6 years of touring and recording with the bands of Buddy Rich, Harry James and Woody Herman. As a music student, John spent a year performing with the OFK Band. |
